If you want to create your own pattern designs for children's clothing for yourself or for commercial purposes this course will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need. The course focuses on creating basic blocks (slopers) for babies, children, tween & teen sizes and then looks at how to develop those blocks into a range of patterns. Watch the video below to learn more!
A Little More Detail...
The course covers in detail how to draft basic blocks (slopers) for baby sizes, child sizes, tween and teen sizes. We look at how to create blocks for developing figures, where teen bodies are just beginning to evolve. When designing and cutting patterns for babies and children, ease is crucial. I will teach you how to draft and adapt patterns to incorporate that ease through the different age bands. Our primary focus will be on using a 'base' also know as a basic block or sloper, to create a variety of styles for children's wear.
The second part of the course focuses on adapting our basic blocks into a range of styles, carefully chosen to introduce you to the main areas of pattern cutting for babies and children.
The lessons are structured in a way that means you read my lesson notes that describe the pattern cutting steps in great details and then watch the video that supports the notes. I also often include the basic block or pattern I have just drafted as a PDF download for your to print and take a look at!
As a bonus section I also take a look at some popular collar and sleeve designs and we take a look at how a bodice can be easily adapted into a dress. The course is balanced between styles for both boys and girls as we take a look at shirts too.
There are lots of PDF's to download, and charts as well as a free bonus copy of my measurement guide for babies worth £35.00
If all that wasn't enough I have also added a number of bonus modules that cover pattern drafting for extra styles called PATTERN MAPS. If you have taken one of my course before you know that I add content to my courses as they grow and you will find extra styles in this section as the course grows!
I have also added a section of general information, tips and advice that I have provided to lot's of my clients and small business start ups over the years.
In total the course has over 40 lessons supported by more than 25 videos and more than 25 PDF downloads too!
Plus keep your eyes on the PATTERN MAPS section for new styles and bonus content as the course develops, I have some fantastic ideas already!
